That Wish List

I am apparently in the mood to buy and read a lot of novels right now.

  • The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
  • Eleven Minutes by Paulo Coelho
  • The Boy in Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne
  • Diary by Chuck Palahniuk (did I get the spelling right?)
  • Rant by Chuch Palahniuk

So far, that’s my longest wish list of books. Perhaps, because it’s summer and besides reviewing for the UPCAT, I have nothing special/important things to do. So I’ll probably make myself busy, leafing through those books.

Before, all I wanted was the last book of Harry Potter. Until English Literature I required us to read that George Orwell book, Animal Farm, I began to like reading novels although I always end up asleep in the middle of reading. My eyes easily get tired and worn out.

However, I’m a slow reader. In fact, I read Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows for 3 months while my classmate only read it for 2 days and others for only a day. I read Animal Farm for 3 days, and J.D. Salinger’s The Catcher in The Rye for a month. Lol.

Meanwhile, I closed A Day and A Year’s covers for a while and started reading The Alchemist. I’m currently almost halfway through it. I’m loving its story so much, its idea and everything. It is starting to influence me in searching for my “Personal Legend”. Lol.

The lights has been turned off and the American Idol journey has been ended for the Filipina American Idol Season 7 top 24 finalist, Ramiele Malubay. She has always been that sweet girl with a strong voice who made the Filipinos proud. She was my favorite among all of the contestants.

Bye-bye
Ramiele Malubay. :(

Kaya kay Carly Smithson na lang ako. Hehe.

  2. Hello!

I’m a big fan of Paulo Coelho! You will love this! He’s the first best-selling
author to be distributing for free his works on his blog:

    Have a nice day!

    Aart

  3. I’ve read Palahniuk’s Diary and MAAAAAAAAN – it’s really trivial, factual, and… just great. You’ll get to know a lot about painting and the art stuff!

Catcher in the Rye for a month? Err, not to brag but I finished it for like, half-a-day. Well, siguro magiging mabilis kang magbasa if you’re really interested with what you’re reading. :) Who knows?

But I’m still a slow reader since… well, other people are faster than me. It’s okay – don’t just waste your worth 300-peso book and read it in a WHOLE day, goddamit. :D

  4. i highly recommend that you add “Sophie’s World” in the list. It is a book that’s highly philosophical. Tell you, you’ve got something to get each something new everytime you read it.

  5. Carly Smithson looks like Amy Lee of Evanescence. I admire them both except for that ugly tattoo on Carly’s right arm.

  6. Paulo Coelho’s one of my favorite writers. I’ve liked every single novel he wrote, especially The Alchemist and Veronika decides to die.
